Job Description

About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector - Mechanical - Project to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This full-time role involves performing comprehensive inspection and testing of mechanical equipment installation activities to ensure strict compliance with project drawings, specifications, and relevant industry codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on mechanical equipment installation works, including pumps, vessels, packages, and structural skids.
  • Verify equipment installation, alignment, and grouting against approved drawings and vendor specifications.
  • Witness mechanical running tests, alignment checks, and equipment box-up activities as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Verify materials and equipment against material certificates, vendor data, and project specifications.
  • Record inspection results accurately and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify the calibration status of all measuring and test equipment used on site.
  • Support the generation of punch lists and verify the closure of identified items for mechanical works.
  • Ensure all work fronts comply with approved method statements and mechanical equipment standards.
  • Support the preparation of quality documentation for mechanical handover dossiers.

Performance Evaluation

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, ensuring high standards of quality control and adherence to project requirements.

  • Inspection accuracy and completeness.
  • Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
  • First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
  • Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
  • Quality of inspection documentation.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical inspection within a project environment. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical equipment installation, testing procedures, and quality control principles.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Eastern Province, focusing on project-specific mechanical quality control activities. The role involves working closely with project teams, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
