The Role: Mechanical Yard Superintendent (Offshore)

Penspen is seeking a Mechanical Yard Superintendent (Offshore) to oversee and direct all day-to-day offshore construction and installation activities on-site. This full-time position, based in Al Khafji, Eastern, Saudi Arabia, ensures that all execution is carried out safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with project specifications, drawings, schedule, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily with construction management, subcontractors, marine captains, and offshore construction vessels to optimize logistics, manpower allocation, and material handling.
• Monitor progress of multi-disciplinary teams including structural, piping, electrical, and rigging.
• Resolve immediate site execution challenges as they arise.
• Ensure the implementation of approved construction procedures, method statements, and lifting plans.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and site coordination meetings.
• Report progress, resource constraints, and potential delays directly to onshore project management.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of Offshore Oil & Gas EPC experience.
• Minimum 10 years in offshore construction and fabrication projects.
• Minimum 5 years working in fabrication yards.

Mandatory Technical Expertise

• Experience with mechanical completion activities.
• Proficiency with conductors, risers, J-tubes, and offshore mechanical appurtenances.
• Expertise in piping fabrication and installation.
• Knowledge of hydrotest and mechanical completion dossiers.
• Experience in preservation and pre-commissioning activities.
• Ability to manage punch lists and system handover processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with offshore wellhead platforms.
• Experience with offshore process platforms.
• Previous involvement in Saudi Aramco offshore projects.
• Prior PMC or Company Representative experience.
