Job Description

About the Role

Ades Holding Co. is seeking a Day Tool Pusher to oversee and manage all drilling operations activities during the day shift. Based in Al Khobar, this full-time role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of well and drilling activities. The Day Tool Pusher will work in close liaison with the OIM, maintaining a primary focus on the safety of personnel, the environment, and equipment to optimize drilling operation efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and the efficiency of operations across the drill floor and associated drilling areas.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct all drilling and associated activities to achieve optimum job performance in line with client requirements.
  • Consult with the OIM/Night Toolpusher and Client’s Representative regarding drilling program progress and communicate any plan changes to the driller.
  • Relieve the Driller at the console as operational demands require.
  • Supervise the drilling crew at the worksite, ensuring sufficient circulating time and well stability during trips and BHA operations.
  • Operate the drilling unit in strict adherence to company Drilling & Well Control manuals, including reviewing and approving all drilling-related work permits.
  • Ensure well control requirements are in place, assist in well killing operations, and monitor parameters to proactively identify and respond to well control issues.
  • Maintain and regularly test well control equipment, performing all necessary well control calculations.
  • Participate in the installation’s Emergency Response Team, instruct personnel on emergency procedures, and ensure well control and general safety drills are conducted.
  • Assist the OIM/Night Toolpusher in maintaining sufficient stock of parts and materials for drilling and associated operations.
  • Ensure planned maintenance and repair of drilling equipment, such as draw works, mud pumps, top drive, rotary table, and BOP, are completed and documented.
  • Carry out duties related to preparing the rig for towing, ensuring the cantilever, rig floor, and drilling equipment are correctly secured.
  • Promote and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel, and Client representatives.
  • Maintain proper logs and records, submitting accurate and timely daily drilling, equipment status, and incident reports.
  • Provide clear instructions to the team, mentor, develop, and train them to ensure safe and effective operations and support their professional growth.
  • Evaluate team performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive the ADVANCE process for formal performance management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: High School or Vocational/Technical Qualification.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum twelve (12) years of working experience in drilling and workover operations with reputable drilling contractors, including time served as an Assistant Driller and Driller.
    • Minimum one (1) year in the current position.
    • Must have working experience on Offshore rigs.
  • Certifications:
    • As per ADES Training Matrix.
    • Valid Well Control (Well Sharp / IADC) Certificate.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly climb stairs and ladders.
  • Capacity for regular bending, twisting, and standing.
  • Comfortable working outdoors under all extreme weather conditions (Noise / Humidity / Cold / Heat).
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours per day during the shift.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Al Khobar, requiring extensive experience on offshore rigs. The role operates within a demanding and dynamic environment, where adherence to safety protocols and operational efficiency are paramount.
