Role Overview

Makeen is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join its team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This full-time role involves close collaboration with financial professionals across the organization to evaluate financial health and long-term sustainability. The Manager will be responsible for providing detailed financial reports and projections, including profit and loss forecasts, to support strategic decision-making. The position requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant financial role.

Financial Accounting and Reporting

• Perform, oversee, and monitor financial accounting activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, accounting for leases, accounting for debt, and employee benefits.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Present financial reports and estimates to decision-makers within the organization.
• Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise.

Budgeting and Strategic Financial Support

• Coordinate the budgeting process between different internal departments, reviewing and summarizing their requirements for Finance Management.
• Prepare financial input and projections for incorporation into the annual business plan exercise.
• Ensure budget controls and monitor expenditures, ensuring compliance with approval authorities.
• Apply critical thinking when reviewing business models and investment opportunities, with the ability to introduce or recommend improvements.

Tax Compliance and Advisory

• Assist tax advisors in preparing Zakat, Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Withholding Tax, and Transfer Price filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as per relevant regulatory reporting requirements.
• Review tax return files prepared by tax advisors and ensure timely filing of returns and settlement of liability.
• Review agreements with vendors, clients, and partners to advise on applicable ZATCA regulations and Tax treaties.
• Provide advice to management on Zakat and tax-related inquiries.
• Maintain full historical records of filings, proof of payments, and reconciliations related to Zakat and tax matters.

External Audit and Internal Collaboration

• Build relationships with other related internal entities and ensure accuracy of data shared for monthly closing activities and year-end financial statements.
• Liaise with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues, supplying them with required data and inputs to facilitate the auditing process.
• Perform ad hoc duties and various work-related tasks as assigned by Finance Management.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant financial role, demonstrating strong capabilities in financial accounting, reporting, and tax compliance. The ability to apply critical thinking when reviewing business models and investment opportunities, along with recommending improvements, is essential for this role.
