Job Description

About the Role

ABIS is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to take charge of the mechanical discipline, specializing in rotating equipment. This full-time role involves active daily engagement during the engineering phase within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment, potentially across multiple projects. The position requires participation in proposal and bidding activities, alongside providing essential technical support during construction and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and control all engineering activities pertinent to the Mechanical Discipline.
  • Ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination and support team building initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and highlight issues or problems to management for timely remedial action.
  • Actively participate in progress review meetings, technical meetings, client meetings, and vendor meetings.
  • Support Procurement activities, including raising Material Requisitions (MRs), conducting Technical Bid Clarification/Evaluation (TBC/TBE), and drafting Purchase Requisitions.
  • Assist the bidding team by raising Requests for Quotation (RFQs), performing technical evaluation of bids, and contributing to cost estimation.
  • Provide technical support during construction by responding to site-related technical queries (TQs).
  • Review and provide comments on GES plus engineering deliverables on a case-by-case basis.
  • Ensure the safety and quality of all deliverables.
  • Participate in Value Engineering practices such as value engineering studies, lessons learned sessions, Risk Assessment/Management Studies and workshops, and Constructability studies and workshops.
  • Strive for customer satisfaction and appreciation.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of combined experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, and Power Industries.
  • Demonstrated experience working with GES plus/EPC Contractors on projects for Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and other reputable organizations.
  • Experience in attending Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) activities.
  • Experience providing support for pre-commissioning activities.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BS, BE, or B Tech).
  • Completion of relevant training and certification courses.

Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities within the mechanical discipline, excellent interdisciplinary coordination skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A solid understanding of static equipment is considered an advantage. The role demands a commitment to ensuring safety and quality in all deliverables, coupled with a focus on achieving customer satisfaction.
