Lead Services Specialist Commissioning

About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Services Specialist Commissioning for a full-time position in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This role is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software products within the DCS Controls Services Business portfolio. The specialist will provide daily or weekly updates on job progress to clients, plant/utility owners, or construction firms as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively manage controls and instrumentation activities on-site during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of upgrade projects or new installations.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for DCS control systems such as Mark Vie, Cimplicity, HMI, and NW switches.
• Provide technical direction and support to customers on Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) packaged products.
• Understand PLC ladder logic, including basic navigation through ladder rungs for troubleshooting.
• Trace through software documentation and implement DCS control constant modifications.
• Read and modify software sequencing, and set up/modify hardware/software associated with DCS of BOP, Gas, and Steam Turbine systems.
• Troubleshoot existing DCS Control hardware and software installations on-site.
• Prepare field services jobs and coordinate with project/service managers.
• Provide informal and formal training to customer employees as needed.
• Supervise cable laying, Insulation Resistance (Megger) testing, and connections.
• Maintain accurate timesheets and acquire customer signatures before leaving job sites.
• Prepare Field Service Reports within one week of job completion.
• Understand Terms and Conditions (T&C) commitments and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports and attend technical meetings with customers.
• Ensure all in-field activities comply with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
• Provide expert consultation on complex projects and input hours, expenses, and timesheets accurately in internal systems.
• Conduct pre-outage and installation planning, potentially recommending and administering policies and procedures.
• Drive customer satisfaction through a commitment to quality and support business growth initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to review plant engineering documents and P&IDs.
• Experience in troubleshooting plant systems and equipment.
• Proficiency in planning, organizing, integrating, and directing resources (labor, tools, materials) to complete work scopes according to contractual requirements.
• Knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and identify resources for problem-solving.
• Familiarity with instruments, controls, and PLCs for controls training.
• Familiarity with computer network systems and switches.
• Strong knowledge in synchronous machine control philosophy, Generators, and their auxiliaries.

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge of EX2100e is an advantage.
