The Role: OT Cybersecurity Design Engineer

Siemens is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Design Engineer to join its Digital Industry team. This full-time position is based in Al Khobar, Eastern, Saudi Arabia, and represents a significant opportunity for Saudi Nationals. The role focuses on designing and implementing robust cybersecurity measures for operational technology (OT) environments, contributing to a more secure industrial world.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), their related networks, and information.
• Identify and define comprehensive system security requirements.
• Design ICS systems security architecture and develop detailed cybersecurity designs that adhere to standard blueprints and best design practices.
• Engage in the entire software and system lifecycle, encompassing design, documentation, installation, configuration, and testing.
• Perform installation, configuration, and testing activities at both factory (manufacturing facility) and customer sites, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Prepare comprehensive system documentation, including Functional Design Specifications, Backup Systems documentation, Firewall configurations, Network Diagrams, System Architectures, Asset Inventory, FAT and SAT procedures, and Operation & Maintenance manuals.

Required Professional Experience

Candidates for this position should demonstrate a strong background in industrial cybersecurity and project execution.

• 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in executing sizable EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) jobs for brownfield Oil and Gas projects.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

Technical Expertise

The role requires hands-on technical expertise across various cybersecurity and networking solutions, including:

• Management of System Backup technologies, including installation and deployment (*, Acronis).
• Deployment and management of End Point Security & Application Control Solutions (*, McAfee).
• Deployment and management of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions (*, McAfee, Splunk, Q-radar).
• Implementation and management of network-based firewalls (*, Fortinet, Palo Alto, CISCO, SonicWALL, Siemens), network troubleshooting, and intrusion detection products.
• Installation and management of Network Management Solutions.
• Conducting firmware updates for various Automation Control Systems, Switches, and Firewalls.
• Configuration and deployment of Domain Controller settings and policies to defined computer groups.
• Implementation of host-based security technologies such as Antivirus, Data Leakage Prevention, Host IPS, Whitelisting, and Anomaly Detection.
