About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Plant Project Planning & Controls Manager to join its team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role is central to leading plant-related projects and planning activities, ensuring effective execution, schedule control, and budget management. The Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives and support plant operations by developing comprehensive project plans and monitoring performance. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and involves close collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders in a multicultural project environment.

Core Project and Planning Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements for plant-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate internal teams, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Track project progress, adjust plans as needed, and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Support the execution of international projects and manage communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Approve project-related purchase orders in accordance with the current Delegation of Authority.
  • Develop and manage planning strategies that support business and plant operational objectives.
  • Create and maintain project, workforce, production, or supply plans, ensuring alignment between short-term schedules and long-term strategic plans.
  • Monitor risks, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and resource constraints affecting project and plant operational performance.
  • Provide regular progress updates, performance reports, and actionable recommendations to management.

Workflow Optimization and Leadership

  • Manage and monitor workflow processes across teams or departments, coordinating task assignments, priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Lead and support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, including value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
  • Provide overall management of assigned projects and build/lead project teams in coordination with functional leaders.
  • Support performance feedback and development discussions for team members, ensuring delegation of authority aligns with company policies.

Reporting and Data Systems

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reports, dashboards, databases, and tracking tools.
  • Build and manage databases using various tools.
  • Create advanced Excel models, formulas, pivot tables, charts, and automated reports.
  • Utilize Smartsheet for workflow management, project tracking, and reporting.
  • Analyze trends, identify issues, and provide actionable recommendations based on data.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Contribute to the EHS plan, operations department development, and unit continuous improvements.
  • Lead EHS/safety actions and performance, ensuring full compliance with GE rules and processes.
  • Ensure project teams (both internal and subcontracted) are properly trained and hold required qualifications.
  • Adhere to GE compliance Policies ('The Spirit and The Letter’) and promote open reporting.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant project planning and controls role. This position requires a self-motivated and highly organized individual, capable of providing timely status reports, mitigating risks, and capitalizing on opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, from sales to warranty end. Experience working with diverse stakeholders including engineering, operations, procurement, supply chain, vendors, and customers in multicultural project environments is essential.
