Role Overview

The Principal Piping Engineer will manage piping engineering services for projects, ensuring they meet Worley's, its customers', and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget. This full-time position involves significant oversight of EPC Contractors during the Detail Design Phase and a transition to site-based field engineering roles, supporting construction activities and providing required field inspections and approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the PMC scope, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, interfaces, safety, quality, schedule, and stakeholder coordination throughout project execution.
• Manage EPC Contractors during the Detail Design Phase and transition to site, taking on a Lead Piping role as part of the Field Engineering team for site assurance and required field inspections/approvals.
• Act as the piping engineering Lead on specific projects, outlining requirements, actively promoting workshare where appropriate, assigning tasks, and supervising progress.
• Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and comply with required checking procedures.
• Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
• Provide advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including overseeing requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and purchase order preparation.
• Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley's and its Customer's requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in piping engineering.
• Assist and support junior personnel within the piping engineering team as required.
• Communicate effectively with the piping engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of extensive technical and practical experience in piping engineering within the same or a similar industry.
• Demonstrated experience working on multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
• Excellent technical and practical engineering skills, with the ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work.
• Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of piping engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
• Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards, as well as statutory and regulatory specifications.
• Competent use of relevant software, including MS Office Suite and piping engineering-specific software.
