Senior Civil Engineer, Oil & Gas Projects

Muscat Engineering Consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our full-time team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading design activities for major Oil & Gas projects within the region. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and proficiency in industry-standard design tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review reports, technical documentation, cost and manpower estimates, and risk assessments, including Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and Vendor packages.
• Coordinate effectively with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide engineering solutions to address problems encountered during construction or operational phases.
• Participate in progress meetings, conduct quality checks, and contribute to audits.
• Apply principles of continuous improvement and innovation to project work.
• Actively train and support the development of staff for process and systems engineering roles.
• Participate in discipline-specific Design reviews, Model reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, and Engineering Best Practices as applicable.
• Allocate workload judiciously to ensure optimal utilization of resources.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in Design Engineering of Oil & Gas projects.
• A minimum of 2 years of working experience specifically within Saudi Arabia.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Must be registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards, in line with Saudi Aramco requirements.
• Proficient in English, encompassing speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, design, and execute engineering projects based on technical specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with proven leadership and decision-making abilities.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, focusing on significant Oil & Gas sector projects.
