Job Description

About the Role

Alrawaf Contracting is seeking an Inventory Control Lead to manage and control the company's construction materials, tools, equipment, machinery, spare parts, and other project assets. This full-time position is based in Al Qassim, Al Qasim, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role ensures accurate inventory records, effective asset utilization, and compliance with company policies across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day inventory control across warehouses, yards, and construction sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction materials, consumables, spare parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels, minimum/maximum quantities, and reorder requirements.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and excess stock, ensuring proper identification and storage.
  • Maintain an updated asset register for construction equipment, vehicles, tools, machinery, and IT assets.
  • Track asset movements, monitor utilization, condition, and lifecycle, and coordinate transfers, returns, and disposal.
  • Coordinate with project teams regarding equipment and tool availability, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ensure materials are received, inspected, recorded, and issued according to approved procedures, verifying against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and asset information within the company's ERP/WMS or asset management system.
  • Prepare monthly inventory and asset reports for management, including KPIs and dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, project requirements, and KSA regulations.
  • Supervise and guide inventory controllers, storekeepers, and asset coordinators, providing training and promoting accountability.

Performance Indicators

The role's effectiveness will be measured against several key performance indicators, including:

  • Inventory accuracy percentage and variance.
  • Stock-out frequency and slow-moving/obsolete inventory levels.
  • Inventory turnover and asset utilization rate.
  • Asset loss/damage rate and asset register accuracy.
  • Timeliness of inventory transactions and cycle-count completion.
  • Reduction in inventory carrying costs and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in inventory control, asset management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing construction materials, tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Proficiency in using ERP/WMS or asset management systems.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to lead and train a team effectively.

Work Environment

This role operates within warehouses, construction sites, and project locations across Saudi Arabia, requiring coordination with various internal teams including procurement, logistics, and project management. The position is full-time and based in Al Qassim, Al Qasim.
