About the Role

Siemens Digital Industries is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Design Engineer to join their team in Al Qatif. This full-time position is a great opportunity for Saudi Nationals with 2-5 years of experience in IT/OT security. The role focuses on supporting customers in maximizing growth, profit opportunities, and ecological footprint within discrete and process industries by designing and implementing robust cybersecurity measures for Industrial Control Systems (ICS).

Role Context and Impact

As an OT Cybersecurity Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in protecting critical ICS and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) by engineering, implementing, and monitoring security measures. This role involves defining system security requirements, designing secure architectures, and contributing across the entire system lifecycle from design to testing. You will help re-imagine industrial security by finding solutions that enhance the resilience and integrity of operational technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for ICS/SIS systems, networks, and information, while defining system security requirements.
• Design ICS systems security architecture and develop detailed cybersecurity designs adhering to standard blueprints and best practices.
• Engage in the entire software/system lifecycle, including design, documentation, installation, configuration, and testing.
• Manage System Backup technologies (*, Acronis), including installation and deployment.
• Deploy and manage End Point Security & Application Control Solutions (*, McAfee) and SIEM solutions (*, McAfee, Splunk, Q-radar).
• Implement and manage network-based firewalls (*, Fortinet, Palo Alto, CISCO, SonicWALL, Siemens), perform network troubleshooting, and manage intrusion detection products.
• Install and manage Network Management Solutions.
• Conduct firmware updates for various Automation Control Systems, Switches, and Firewalls.
• Configure and deploy Domain Controller settings and policies to defined computer groups.
• Implement host-based security technologies such as Antivirus, Data Leakage Prevention, Host IPS, Whitelisting, and Anomaly Detection.
• Perform installation, configuration, and testing activities at both factory and customer sites, with experience in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Prepare comprehensive system documentation including Functional Design Specifications, Backup Systems documentation, Firewall configurations, Network Diagrams, System Architectures, Asset Inventory, FAT and SAT procedures, and Operation & Maintenance manuals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field). A degree in Cybersecurity is preferred.
• Certifications: Valid certification in OT security (*, CISSP, GICSP, OSCP) is highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Design/Site Engineer with experience in IT/OT security, specifically in ICS Systems and Cybersecurity with a focus on OT security.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience in large EPC projects.
• Minimum of 3 years professional experience in design, engineering, and site execution.
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of Shell Design and Engineering Practices (Shell DEPs), Oil & Gas engineering practices, applicable specifications, codes, and international standards.
• Familiarity with the Oil and Gas industry and its specific cybersecurity challenges.
• Demonstrated experience in executing sizable EPC jobs for brownfield Oil and Gas projects.
• Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
