About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking dedicated Dental Assistants to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive chairside assistance to general and specialist dentists, contributing to high-quality patient care and supporting various clinical and surgical procedures as an integral part of the dental team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide complete chairside assistance to general or specialist dentists during clinical and surgical dental procedures.
  • Perform clinical supportive functions essential to patient treatment.
  • Assist dentists in diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, or pedodontic procedures.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, and dismiss them post-procedure.
  • Perform point-of-use cleaning of instrumentation and disinfecting of equipment.
  • Communicate post-operative instructions prescribed by the dentist to patients.
  • Maintain dental supply inventory and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and applicable documentation.
  • Participate in patient examinations and treatments by retracting cheeks and tissues, and by irrigating and aspirating mouth fluids safely and comfortably.
  • Anticipate the dentist's needs and practice four-handed dentistry for efficient operative procedures.
  • Perform expanded duty procedures under the direct supervision of the dentist as required.
  • Review patient medical histories and alert the dentist to significant issues, assisting in updating patient histories.
  • Flag patient charts to note significant historical problems.
  • Accurately chart the findings of the patient's oral conditions as reported by the dentist.
  • Record the treatment rendered in the patient's permanent chart.
  • Maintain and periodically review skills in First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.
  • Handle medical emergencies until the dentist arrives or assist the dentist in rendering emergency first aid.
  • Instruct patients in post-operative home care procedures as directed by the dentist.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of clinical experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic, encompassing speaking and writing.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Office and Health Information Systems.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia. The work environment is 100% indoors. The standard working schedule consists of 6 working days with 1 day off, and 8 net working hours per day, subject to shift schedules approved by the head of the department.
