Job Description
About the Role
Entourage Marketing & Events is seeking a seasoned Account Manager to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role is for an experienced events professional who provides strategic counsel and acts as the commercial guardian for client accounts. The Account Manager is responsible for building and protecting client relationships through honesty and expertise, ensuring commercial discipline, and delivering high-quality events.
Client Partnership and Commercial Discipline
- Own relationships with senior client stakeholders, including Marketing Directors, Brand Managers, and C-suite contacts.
- Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business, brand, internal dynamics, and approval processes.
- Proactively share ideas, identify risks, and bring solutions before issues arise.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships rather than transactional ones.
- Manage expectations effectively, aiming to overdeliver consistently.
- Confidently challenge client requests that are outside scope, budget, operationally unrealistic, or commercially damaging.
- Communicate boundaries clearly and professionally while always proposing viable alternatives.
- Protect the agency’s commercial and operational interests without compromising the client relationship.
- Develop financial and commercial proposals that reflect both the agency’s value and project requirements.
- Price strategically, considering complexity, exclusivity, client budgets, and agency margin targets.
- Present and defend commercial proposals confidently, articulating the value of the investment.
- Track budget consumption and project financials throughout delivery.
- Own financial conversations with clients, including additional scope and budget changes.
- Ensure invoices are issued on time and payments are followed up proactively.
Project Briefing and Internal Leadership
- Translate client requirements into clear, comprehensive written briefs for internal teams.
- Ensure briefs cover client context, objectives, target audience, key messaging, deliverables, constraints, timelines, budget, and measures of success.
- Ensure no project is kicked off internally without an agreed and complete brief.
- Provide the Project Manager, creative, and production teams with the information needed to execute effectively.
- Set clear expectations, deadlines, and quality standards across internal teams.
- Filter unnecessary client noise and ensure communication between the client and internal teams remains clear and focused.
- Hold colleagues accountable while avoiding unnecessary micromanagement.
- Ensure the Project Manager is fully aligned on scope, budget, and timeline before execution begins.
- Support junior team members in understanding the wider commercial context of their work.
Live Event Execution and Business Growth
- Act as the senior client relationship owner on-site during live events.
- Welcome, host, and manage relationships with senior client stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations in real time and make confident decisions when plans change.
- Support the Project Manager with operational decision-making where required.
- Ensure the live client experience reflects what was originally proposed and sold.
- Own client communication when issues arise, remaining calm, transparent, and solution-focused.
- Maintain accountability without passing blame in front of the client.
- Treat every existing client account as an opportunity for sustainable growth.
- Identify upcoming projects, annual events, new budget cycles, and potential opportunities.
- Proactively bring strategic ideas to clients before formal briefs or competitor pitches begin.
- Lead or contribute to new business pitches and proposals.
- Identify and track upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Develop account growth plans and monitor annual account revenue.
- Set and work towards clear annual revenue and account growth targets.
- Take ownership of generating new revenue rather than simply managing incoming work.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of account management experience in an international events agency.
- Proven track record managing large-scale events across corporate, brand, and experiential sectors.
- Full financial proposal ownership experience, from brief development to invoice management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships independently.
- Experience leading internal teams and coordinating multi-workstream projects.
- Live event on-site management experience, beyond office-based delivery.
- Contribution to new business pitches and account growth initiatives.
