The Role of Camp Supervisor

Group AMANA is seeking a Camp Supervisor to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time role involves supporting the daily operations of labor accommodation facilities. The Camp Supervisor ensures that camp services, safety standards, worker welfare, transportation coordination, asset management, and compliance requirements are effectively maintained in line with AMANA’s policies and minimum accommodation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor adherence to all internal and external health, safety, and security regulations, reporting any violations and taking action to prevent or resolve safety hazards.
  • Ensure all emergency telephone numbers for FIRE, POLICE, and AMBULANCE are identified to all workers residing at the camp and regularly communicate safety and environmental awareness.
  • Assist the Camp Boss with the orientation of new employees and participate in labor committee meetings to suggest action plans.
  • Create a harmonious environment in the labor camp to accommodate worker diversity, ensuring fairness in treatment and labor motivation.
  • Ensure all technical equipment is fully functional and coordinate with assigned suppliers for any repair work.
  • Prepare and maintain periodical pre-defined reports, ensuring they are timely and accurately updated.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors for wastage/sewerage water disposal and maintain electrical appliances, A/C units, etc.
  • Ensure that labor transfers between camps are accurately documented.
  • Monitor the stock of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the store and distribute it to workers as per AMANA standards.
  • Support the transportation team with labor movement to work sites and back, and oversee the daily movement of workers.
  • Maintain and report daily records for all workers residing in the camp.
  • Prepare, maintain, and ensure up-to-date records of Camp Assets.
  • Check and verify the compliance of the labor camp with “Amana Minimum Accommodation Standards” on a day-to-day basis, overseeing its safety, security, tidiness, and maintenance.
  • Assure proper interaction with non-staff residing in camp, including implementation of company policies and procedures, induction orientation, and communication via notice boards.
  • Manage room allotment as per company policy and legal requirements.
  • Identify and report all acts of violations to the Camp Lead to ensure discipline and documentation.
  • Respond appropriately to facility emergencies.
  • Monitor utilities consumption and maintenance costs to remain within set budgets.
  • Monitor and check that all received camp residents comply with company housing procedures and meet legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate an open-minded approach to understanding and working with people from diverse backgrounds, treating them fairly, consistently, with dignity and respect.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Camp Supervisor position should possess a strong commitment to detail and motivation. The role requires:

  • 2-5 years of overall professional experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience specifically in camp supervision within the construction industry.
  • Preferably, experience in environments supporting industrial, commercial, or large-scale project operations.
