About the Role

Crown Holdings is seeking a dedicated Cans Mechanical Technician to join our team in Dammam, located in the Eastern region. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of our can manufacturing processes. The role involves performing skilled mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of specialized equipment to ensure continuous production and high product quality.

Role Overview

The Cans Mechanical Technician is responsible for upholding optimal production efficiency and product quality within our manufacturing facility. This involves a proactive approach to equipment upkeep and a swift, effective response to mechanical issues. The technician's contributions directly support uninterrupted production flows and the consistent output of high-standard products.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on a range of can manufacturing machinery, including presses, bodymakers, trimmers, flangers, neckers, seamers, and associated conveyor systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Perform adjustments, alignments, and calibrations of production equipment to maintain specified operational parameters.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Replace defective parts, components, and assemblies, such as bearings, gears, shafts, belts, and pneumatic/hydraulic components.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment status.
• Collaborate with production operators and other technicians to optimize machine performance and resolve production challenges.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform skilled mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on complex machinery.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems relevant to manufacturing operations.
