Commercial Department Manager

About the Role

Al-Futtaim is seeking a Commercial Department Manager for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Region. This role involves overseeing daily operations within the Marks and Spencer store, with a focus on sales and customer service in the food and hospitality sector. The manager is responsible for strategic planning of resources, stock management, and achieving sales targets while enhancing the customer shopping experience and leading a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate people resources and activities to ensure appropriate staffing levels for sales plan delivery.
• Participate in commercial walk-rounds with the Store Manager and visitors.
• Organize resources to maintain optimal stock levels throughout the trading day and manage deliveries in line with FIFO for stock accuracy and shelf availability.
• Oversee the implementation of corporate layouts, phase changes, floor plans, and planograms.
• Ensure all service areas are adequately resourced to meet customer demands and effectively address customer queries and complaints.
• Engage with customers to enhance their shopping experiences and model key service behaviors including positivity, determination, ownership, responsibility, and respect.
• Coordinate resources to maintain trading standards and guide on hygiene standards.
• Oversee due diligence activities to ensure safe and legal trading practices.
• Communicate effectively with teams, provide regular feedback and recognition, and act on Engagement Survey scores.
• Plan and allocate staffing resources within budget constraints and manage holiday ceilings.
• Implement effective absence management processes and review transaction data to improve performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma required; a university degree is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in retail or Food & Beverage sales.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• F&B hygiene certification.
• Proven ability to connect with customers and demonstrate positivity, determination, respect, and responsibility.

Team Leadership and Development

The Commercial Department Manager plays a key role in leading and developing a committed team to meet both service and operational standards. This includes fostering a supportive work environment, developing talent through effective planning, and ensuring recruitment processes align with team needs.

Financial Management

A critical aspect of this role involves driving profitability through effective cost management and loss minimization. This includes reviewing transaction data to improve performance and reduce idle time on tills, as well as managing staffing resources within budget constraints.
