The Role of Communication Engineer – UAV Systems

Atwad is seeking a Communication Engineer – UAV Systems to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time role focuses on establishing and maintaining dependable communication across various components of UAV systems, including flight systems, payloads, ground stations, and companion computers. The position requires experience in UAV communication systems, telemetry, and protocol integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and validate communication systems specifically for UAV and other autonomous platforms.
• Work with telemetry, command-and-control, and data-link systems.
• Integrate and debug communication protocols within embedded systems environments.
• Provide support for connectivity related to flight controllers, ground stations, payloads, and companion computers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues concerning latency, packet loss, link reliability, interference, and communication range.
• Collaborate with firmware and hardware teams on the implementation of interfaces and protocols.
• Conduct field testing, validation, and reliability analysis of communication systems.
• Document communication architecture, test results, and overall system behavior.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in communication engineering, with a specific focus on UAV communication systems.
