Construction Planner (Mining experience)

About the Role

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Construction Planner with a background in mining to support large-scale industrial projects. This is a contract position based in Dammam, Eastern region, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and maintaining integrated construction schedules, supporting project controls, and ensuring alignment across all project phases from engineering to start-up.

Role Context and Impact

This position is designed for a planning professional who possesses extensive experience within heavy industrial environments and EPC/EPCM project delivery models. The role involves managing complex multi-discipline construction activities, ensuring that project timelines are met, and potential risks are identified and mitigated effectively. The Construction Planner will contribute to the successful execution of projects by providing critical scheduling and planning expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6.
• Support project teams with planning, forecasting, progress measurement, and schedule performance reporting.
• Establish construction sequencing, resource loading plans, and critical path analyses.
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, delays, and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls teams to ensure schedule integration.
• Produce weekly and monthly schedule reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Conduct schedule updates, variance analysis, and earned value assessments where applicable.
• Support construction work packaging, look-ahead planning, and productivity analysis.
• Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in commissioning and start-up planning to support a smooth project handover.

Required Experience and Skills

• 5-10 years of experience as a Construction Planner.
• Demonstrated experience in heavy industrial environments.
• Proficiency in EPC/EPCM project delivery methodologies.
• Experience with complex multi-discipline construction activities.
• Expertise in using Primavera P6 for schedule development and analysis.
