The Role: Customs Clearance Agent

This full-time position for a Customs Clearance Agent is based in Dammam, Eastern region, KSA. The role involves managing customs operations and clearance processes for both import and export shipments within Saudi Arabia, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant declarations and releases. The agent will contribute to the efficiency of global supply chain and logistics operations by navigating complex regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customs operations and clearance processes for KSA import and export shipments, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant declaration and release.
  • Handle daily operations on customs platforms such as Fasah and Bayan, including declaration submission, shipment status tracking, duty/tax calculation, and release management.
  • Review customs documents and information, including commercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, declared value, and country of origin, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and follow up on relevant regulatory approvals through SABER, SFDA, CITC, GACA, and other government platforms as required.
  • Handle customs clearance issues, including customs inspections, missing documents, declaration discrepancies, and shipment holds, ensuring timely resolution and closure.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Transportation, Finance, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve customs-related issues and support business operations.
  • Monitor updates to KSA customs regulations and relevant government requirements, identify potential compliance risks, and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Track customs operational data and key performance indicators, and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance clearance efficiency.
  • Perform other customs operations-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in customs clearance operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customs processes for import and export shipments.
  • Proficiency in using customs platforms such as Fasah and Bayan.
  • Understanding of KSA customs regulations and government requirements.
