Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role

NextEra is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role involves supporting the organization's cybersecurity operations to protect systems, networks, applications, and information assets from security threats. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Role Overview

The Cyber Security Engineer will contribute to security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk and compliance activities. This role also includes the implementation of security controls to maintain a robust security posture for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and identify potential cybersecurity threats and incidents.
• Support the investigation, analysis, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
• Assist in day-to-day SOC and security monitoring activities.
• Perform or support vulnerability assessments and track the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and support security solutions such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security/EDR, and antivirus solutions.
• Assist with security risk assessments and the identification of security gaps.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls.
• Participate in internal and external security audits and compliance activities.
• Coordinate with IT, network, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve security issues.
• Maintain incident records, security reports, and vulnerability remediation status.
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and common security controls.
• Fresh graduates or junior professionals with strong hands-on cybersecurity exposure or certifications may also be considered.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern region, where the Cyber Security Engineer will work within a dedicated team focused on maintaining and enhancing the organization's security posture.
