The Role: Data Center Medium Voltage Technician

ENGIE Solutions Middle East is seeking a Data Center Medium Voltage Technician to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity of critical data center infrastructure. The technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems ranging from 11 kV to 33 kV, ensuring 100% uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear, ring main units (RMUs), circuit breakers, and protection relays.
• Perform routine maintenance on transformers, generators, and distribution cabling to prevent critical facility outages.
• Conduct specialized electrical testing, including insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, contact resistance, and relay calibration tests.
• Strictly adhere to electrical safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Respond immediately to emergency power issues, alarms, or abnormal conditions within the data center's critical power chain.
• Log all maintenance hours, observations, and parts usage into the Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system.
• Perform daily performance monitoring of electrical equipment during walk rounds.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) during preventive and corrective maintenance.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical electrical distribution systems, preferably within a data center environment. A strong technical understanding of MV switchgear, transformers, generators, and associated protection relays is required. The role demands adherence to stringent safety protocols and the ability to perform specialized electrical testing.
