Engineer I/II

About the Role

American Bureau of Shipping is seeking an Engineer I/II (Maritime Technology) to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position involves performing engineering design review and analysis for projects with a focus on technology and innovation. The role requires the application of conventional engineering knowledge to solve moderately complex problems and contribute to the development of policies, methods, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering reviews of plans for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations, and contract commitments, under supervision.
• Address moderately complex problems, such as resolving conflicting design requirements, material standards, or coordinating activities across disciplines.
• Draft technically accurate and timely reports, and respond to client communications for review by an experienced engineer or manager.
• Prepare accurate and timely weekly reports and billing for all work performed.
• Communicate current workload status to team members to ensure client needs are met.
• Propose technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
• Suggest new approaches to problems and recommend changes in methods, procedures, or designs.
• Work directly with clients to identify and resolve problems within technical expertise.
• Function as a team member and may work autonomously with minimal supervision after initial training.
• Implement and maintain ABS Quality System requirements relevant to responsibilities following completion of ABS Quality System training.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science.
• Experience level: 5-10 years in a relevant engineering capacity.

Work Environment

The Engineer I/II will work as part of a team, with opportunities for autonomous work once trained. The position is based in Dammam and is a full-time role.
