About the Role

ABYAT is seeking a Kitchen Designer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time position is integral to the product development process for one of the largest home improvement retailers in the Middle East.

Role Overview

The Kitchen Designer – Product Development is responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative kitchen designs and product lines. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical knowledge, and market understanding to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and commercially viable kitchen solutions that meet customer needs and align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new kitchen concepts, product lines, and collections in line with the company's brand strategy.
• Research market trends, customer preferences, materials, finishes, and international kitchen design innovations.
• Design functional, ergonomic, and aesthetically appealing kitchen solutions for various applications.
• Prepare product specifications, including cabinet configurations, material selections, and design standards.
• Create 2D and 3D designs, technical drawings, and renderings using approved design software.
• Evaluate and recommend new materials, hardware systems, and manufacturing techniques for product innovation.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Ensure product concepts are technically feasible, manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
• Review prototypes and participate in product testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support product launches with design documentation and showroom presentation concepts.
• Provide technical support and product knowledge to sales teams and internal stakeholders.
• Recommend enhancements to existing products based on feedback and market analysis.
• Maintain design documentation and technical records.
• Ensure designs comply with company standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Product Design, Architecture Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in kitchen design, cabinetry design, product development, furniture design, or customized home solutions.
• Proven experience in developing new kitchen concepts, collections, and product lines.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and product development is highly preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Expert understanding of kitchen planning, ergonomics, and space optimization.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen materials, cabinet construction, countertops, hardware systems, and finishes.
• Thorough understanding of kitchen manufacturing processes and production techniques.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 2020 Design, Cabinet Vision, or similar kitchen design software.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop detailed technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and product lifecycle management.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
