GIS I&C Engineer

About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a GIS I&C Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role involves overseeing all activities required for the successful installation, repair, and fault elimination of switching systems. The engineer will be responsible for the installation of high voltage systems globally for PGHV, representing the company through technical expertise and ensuring adherence to project deadlines while maintaining cost-performance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements, instructions, and accident prevention measures, particularly guidelines for work on live system components.
• Manage red-mark drawings/documents to reflect any necessary changes or modifications during installation.
• Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent on planning and coordinating the workforce to meet schedules.
• Collaborate with the PG Project Manager to establish the status of completed and pending work.
• Inspect incoming materials for completeness and potential damage, coordinating material handling with sub-suppliers' Material Control procedures.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within PG's scope of supply, in cooperation with the PG Project Manager.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests, and PG installation completion documentation.
• Oversee and coordinate loop check activities and participate in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Execute assigned tasks competently and ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge in GIS I&C engineering.
• Ability to manage installation and commissioning work with precision.
• Commitment to quality assurance principles, especially under construction site conditions.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working on high voltage systems worldwide, requiring a professional presence and technical expertise when interacting with clients at installation sites.
