Role Overview

GE Vernova is seeking a GIS Supervisor to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role is central to performing engineering and commissioning (E&C) services and maintenance activities for high-voltage switchgear. The GIS Supervisor will be responsible for the testing and commissioning of various types of high-voltage switchgear, with a strong emphasis on Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) equipment. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on E&C work for 230 KV and 380 KV substations.
• Execute troubleshooting and repair operations for electrical live substations.
• Understand and implement both repairing and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities for substations.
• Provide technical assistance for the installation or pre-arrangement of projects as required.
• Operate as part of a team or as a site lead, allocating responsibilities to the site team.

Technical Expertise

• Demonstrate strong technical experience in GIS and AIS switchgear.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of GIS and AIS switchgear and electrical panels.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings to diagnose equipment issues effectively.
• Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to resolve unsolved repair problems.

Site Management and Documentation

• Handle and manage GIS equipment efficiently on site.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain accurate site documentation.
• Manage back-office reporting, test reports, and customer documentation at the site.

Safety and Quality Compliance

• Understand the critical importance of safety at the site.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) operations in strict accordance with GE and customer safety regulations.
• Implement all GE Vernova Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules to ensure continuous improvement in site safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure full EHS compliance and maintain the quality of site work according to GE Vernova procedures.

Required Experience

Candidates must possess strong technical experience in GIS and AIS switchgear, with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a related field. This includes practical, hands-on E&C work experience with high-voltage substations.
