IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Hill International, Inc. is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time role is a key position within the IT Project Delivery team, focusing on the infrastructure domain across various projects. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of independence, providing technical leadership and ensuring infrastructure solutions are designed, validated, and delivered according to organizational standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead authority for infrastructure within assigned projects, owning all infrastructure-related decisions, validations, and outcomes.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions align with business needs, technical standards, and long-term sustainability.
• Lead the infrastructure scope across all project phases, including design, implementation, validation, and closure, ensuring delivery meets agreed timelines and quality.
• Proactively identify project risks and enforce corrective actions as necessary.
• Take full ownership of technical engagement with vendors and system integrators, reviewing, challenging, and approving all vendor deliverables.
• Enforce accountability and ensure vendors meet contractual and technical obligations.
• Review and approve architecture designs, High-Level Designs (HLDs), and Low-Level Designs (LLDs), ensuring consistency, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Identify design gaps, conflicts, and risks, and drive their resolution.
• Ensure alignment between infrastructure, applications, and security domains, validating readiness for system integrations and project dependencies.
• Ensure all infrastructure deliverables are complete prior to handover, validating readiness for transition to operations teams.
• Ensure proper documentation, knowledge transfer, and closure compliance for all projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and design assurance.
• Experience with vendor control and governance frameworks.
• Proven track record of delivering infrastructure solutions in line with organizational standards.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role requires operating with a high level of independence within the IT Project Delivery team.
