About the Role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Engineer - Mechanical, Product Design and Engineering to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to a world-class oilfield services company, focusing on compressor and turboexpander product development.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for design activities related to compressor and turboexpander products. This includes collaborating with engineers and suppliers to ensure quality control and timely delivery. You will also have opportunities to translate new technology concepts into tangible products, driving innovation within the business.

Specifically, as a Lead Compressor Design Engineer, your duties will encompass:

• Leading design activities and reviews, providing technical guidance and project status updates.
• Managing technical areas including thermodynamics, rotor dynamics, material selection, sealing technologies, unit operation, and CAD drawings/mechanical configuration.
• Interacting with strategic customers in Saudi Arabia, serving as a key point of contact.
• Developing comprehensive knowledge of centrifugal compressor technical standards and customer specifications, such as API617 and Saudi Aramco’s SAMS.
• Supporting the Modon shop with mechanical running tests and rotor balancing.
• Providing engineering support to internal teams throughout the full technical project lifecycle, from ITO to commissioning, with a focus on Saudi Arabian projects.
• Ensuring the delivery of technical documentation and drawings align with engineering policies and contractual specifications.
• Overseeing relationships with global and local vendors to manage delivery schedules and ensure timely component acquisition.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

• A solid Engineering background.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD software such as Unigraphics or similar.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
