About the Role
Baker Hughes is seeking a Staff Engineer, Product Design and Engineering - Mechanical to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves strategic customer engagement and technical engineering support within the oilfield services industry.
Role Overview
This role requires a proactive engineer to act as a key interface with customers in Saudi Arabia, building credibility and ensuring critical project aspects are communicated to the engineering team. The focus is on supporting projects from the initial bid phase through to commissioning, ensuring smooth execution and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage strategically with customers in Saudi Arabia, including entities like CSD and Adnoc.
- Develop and maintain strong credibility with customers to identify and relay critical project topics to the engineering team.
- Act as a strategic entry point for customer interactions within Saudi Arabia.
- Manage critical areas of interest and concern for specific projects.
- Develop expertise in centrifugal compressor technical standards and customer specifications, such as API617 and Saudi Aramco’s SAMS.
- Support Modon shop operations to ensure project activities are completed with rigor and on schedule.
- Provide engineering support to internal teams across the full technical project lifecycle, from ITO to commissioning, with a focus on Saudi Arabian projects.
- Oversee relationships with global and local vendors to manage time zones and ensure successful, on-time delivery of components.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Strong understanding of core engineering disciplines including mechanics, structural dynamics, rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid and aero dynamics, materials science, and structural analysis.
- Demonstrated technical expertise, leadership, and influence skills suitable for an individual contributor on complex projects.
- Extensive technical experience in executing industrial processes such as fluid transport, liquid/gas compression, combustion, or heating and cooling systems.
- Proven track record in applying systems engineering methodologies and configuration management in a cross-disciplinary organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
