About the Merchandiser Role at PepsiCo

PepsiCo is seeking a Merchandiser to join its sales team in Dammam, Eastern Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 1 to 3 years of experience and plays a crucial role in maximizing sales volume and ensuring product availability and presentation within assigned customer accounts. PepsiCo products are consumed globally over a billion times daily, with a diverse portfolio including LAY’S, DORITOS, CHEETOS, GATORADE, PEPSI, and QUAKER.

Role Objectives and Responsibilities

The primary objective of this role is to drive sales volume, minimize product stales, achieve distribution targets, implement merchandising standards, manage accounts receivable, and maintain high levels of customer service. Adherence to operating procedures is essential for maintaining consistent standards across Saudi Arabia. The Merchandiser will also be responsible for providing market insights to their supervisor to identify potential sales opportunities and will participate in training to enhance professionalism and customer service skills. Daily debriefings with the supervisor are a mandatory part of the role.

• Sell the full range of products to an agreed list of customers, with sales measured against established targets.
• Ensure customers receive approved service levels, adhering to call frequencies and daily route plans to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks as per operating procedures, maintaining the sales vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition, and reporting any defects promptly.
• Supply ready-to-ship customer orders on time, including all necessary delivery details.
• Maintain individual customer stock levels to agreed requirements to minimize out-of-stock situations.
• Implement agreed in-store merchandising standards as communicated by the supervisor, coordinating with company merchandisers where applicable.
• Advise the supervisor of any relevant competitor activity in the service area.
• Perform daily reconciliation of all cheques, cash, and credit sales.
• Maintain a neat and presentable personal appearance.
• Uphold a high standard of driving and adhere to all driving regulations.

Performance Measurement

Performance will be measured against specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Consistent failure to meet the required results may lead to disciplinary action.
