About the Merchandiser Role at PepsiCo
PepsiCo is seeking a Merchandiser to join our sales team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to maximizing sales volume and ensuring product availability and presentation within our retail partners. PepsiCo products are consumed over a billion times daily across more than 200 countries and territories, with a diverse portfolio including LAY'S, DORITOS, CHEETOS, GATORADE, PEPSI, and QUAKER. Role Purpose and Objectives
The primary purpose of this role is to support the KSA sales team by maximizing sales volume, minimizing product stales, achieving distribution targets, and implementing agreed merchandising standards. The position also involves collecting accounts receivable and maintaining high levels of customer service. Adherence to operating procedures is crucial for maintaining consistent standards across KSA. Additionally, the Merchandiser will gather and report market information to identify sales opportunities and participate in training to enhance professionalism and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell the full range of products to an assigned list of customers, meeting agreed sales targets.
- Manage customer stock levels to minimize out-of-stock situations and ensure product availability.
- Implement agreed in-store merchandising standards as communicated by the supervisor.
- Ensure customers receive approved service levels through adherence to call frequencies and daily route plans.
- Deliver customer orders on time and ensure all delivery arrangements are included.
- Report competitor activity in the served area to the supervisor.
- Reconcile all cheques, cash, and credit sales daily.
- Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and presentation.
- Perform daily and weekly vehicle checks, ensuring the sales vehicle is clean and roadworthy, and reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintain a high standard of driving and adhere to all driving regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
This role requires a candidate with 2 to 5 years of experience in sales and account building. A diploma or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, is necessary. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in conflict management and sales planning. Basic accounting skills are also required.
Work Environment and Location
This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves direct customer interaction and requires adherence to company operating procedures and standards across the region. Performance will be measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and consistent delivery of required results is expected.
