Operative Yard

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Yard Operative to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are committed to maintaining safety and operational efficiency within a yard environment. The role involves critical tasks related to scrap material handling and site maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Signal and guide incoming scrap trucks to designated unloading locations to ensure safe scrap discharge.
• Assist inspectors in verifying truck volume using measuring tape.
• Segregate oversized, unwanted, non-metallic, explosive items, and closed containers (gas/hydraulic cylinders) from incoming scrap supplies, moving them to designated areas before the shift ends.
• Manually clean leftover scrap from truck bottoms after unloading, as required.
• Support the cleaning of basket loading areas and the Scrap Transfer Car (STC) track from the loading point to the charging bay.
• Assist in cleaning spilled scrap from the Scrap Transfer Car.
• Aid in cleaning entrapped scrap and impurities beneath the STC weighing scale using compressed air.
• Clean and wash scrap handling equipment during shutdown periods.
• Report equipment-related problems and scrap abnormalities to the Inspector or Foreman immediately.
• Operate equipment after receiving proper training during emergencies, if requested by the Shift Foreman.
• Perform regular housekeeping of the yard and surrounding areas, either manually or using a Brush Bobcat if trained.
• Ensure the safety of equipment/vehicle movement and co-workers.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) Compliance

• Understand and adhere to organizational HS&E policies.
• Follow all safety instructions pertinent to assigned tasks.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to the relevant staff.
• Maintain provided PPE in good, workable condition.
• Avoid horseplay and misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible personnel.
• Attend all scheduled safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in a relevant operational or yard-based role.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, requiring active participation in yard operations and adherence to strict safety guidelines. The role involves working outdoors and with heavy machinery, demanding a strong focus on operational safety and efficiency.
