About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking an Operator for the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position requires 1-2 years of experience and involves supporting the shift foreman in the daily operations of the EAF. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of the furnace during their shift.

Key Responsibilities

The Operator will work closely with the shift foreman/supervisor to manage EAF operations. Key duties include:

• Receiving handover information from the relieving operator.
• Consulting with the shift foreman/supervisor regarding the shift's plan, including charge mix, furnace gunning time, electrode changes, and other assigned tasks.
• Providing general assistance to the shift foreman.

Operational Duties During Shift

During each shift, the Operator is responsible for maintaining operational readiness and cleanliness:

• Ensuring the gunning machine hopper is kept full.
• Confirming that the sampler and temperature tips are readily available near the manipulator.
• Verifying that the spare electrode column is prepared for the shift.
• Attending to and executing electrode changes as required.
• Performing housekeeping duties within the control room once per shift.
• Maintaining cleanliness in the EAF peripheral area during available opportunities.
• Informing the shift supervisor before leaving the control room.
• Upholding good housekeeping standards throughout the work area.
• Reporting any abnormalities encountered during the shift to the shift foreman/supervisor.

Safety Requirement

A fundamental requirement for this role is the ability and willingness to identify and refuse any unsafe work practices.

Qualifications and Experience

The position requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in an operational or industrial setting. Candidates must possess the right to refuse unsafe work.
