About the Senior Operator, CCM Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Senior Operator, CCM to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position requires a dedicated professional with 4 to 10 years of experience in a relevant operational capacity. The role is integral to the smooth and safe operation of the casting floor and spray chamber.

Core Responsibilities and Operational Duties

The Senior Operator, CCM is responsible for overseeing and performing critical activities on the casting floor and spray chamber. This includes managing teeming, casting, tundish preheating, and both spare and routine maintenance. A key aspect of the role is ensuring production runs smoothly while adhering to safe practices. Responsibilities include:

• Receiving and providing shift handover feedback to colleagues.
• Assuming full responsibility in the absence of the CCM shift casting foreman.
• Performing tundish preheating, slide gate cylinder sensor fixing, and shroud fixing/changing/cleaning.
• Conducting mould body changing and mould tube/oil way cleaning.
• Monitoring and reporting tundish levels during casting operations.
• Preparing stands for casting.
• Operating all strands during new tundish setup or while in operation.
• Reporting any abnormalities observed during the shift to the shift foreman or supervisor.
• Maintaining proper housekeeping of the CCM control room and the periphery of the CCM casting floor.
• Undertaking any other assigned duties as required for plant operations.

Additional Operational Tasks

• Ladle nozzle opening and lancing.
• Temperature sampling.
• Slag box and emergency slag box cleaning and changing.
• Dummy bar packing and sealing.
• Oil tank topping up.
• Sanding for tundish nozzles.
• Strand run-out and cleaning in case of failures.
• Spray nozzle cleaning and changing during turnarounds or downtime.
• Operating stands during shift starts and restarting as required.
• Ensuring the normal process cycle is maintained and manpower is adequate for the next shift.

Commitment to Safety and Training

Adherence to safety protocols is paramount. The Senior Operator, CCM is expected to:

• Strictly follow all safe working practices and organizational safety rules as per the HS&E Policy.
• Comply with all job-related safety instructions.
• Maintain issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in good and workable condition.
• Report any unsafe PPE usage by staff and damages to the concerned authority.
• Avoid horseplay and the misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Attend all scheduled safety training sessions.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.
• Participate in and deliver SBT (Skills Based Training) / On-the-Job Training / Tool Box Talks to subordinates.
• Promote awareness and implementation of the STOP program.

Work Arrangements and Flexibility

Employees in this role will work according to a General Shift or Shift Rota schedule as determined by company requirements. The company also reserves the right to transfer employees to any production unit within the organization as needed.
