About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a dedicated Mould Operator to join our operational team in Dammam. This is a full-time position requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience in a continuous casting environment.

Role Overview

The Mould Operator is responsible for performing critical tasks related to continuous casting machine (CCM) operations, ensuring efficient and safe production processes. This role involves direct engagement with various components of the casting system, from preparation to monitoring and maintenance, contributing to the overall productivity and quality of output.

Operational Duties

• Perform tundish preheating procedures.
• Execute slide gate cylinder and sensor fixing.
• Manage shroud fixing, changing, and cleaning.
• Conduct ladle nozzle opening/lancing.
• Monitor temperature and perform sampling as required.
• Clean and change slag boxes and emergency slag boxes.
• Undertake mould body changing, mould tube cleaning, and oil ways cleaning.
• Perform dummy bar packing/sealing.
• Ensure oil tank topping up.
• Monitor and report tundish levels during casting operations.
• Prepare strands for casting.
• Carry out sanding of tundish nozzles.
• Manage the start of casting, slag fishing, and end of casting procedures.
• Operate strands in shifts, including starting and restarting as necessary.
• Clean and change spray nozzles during turnarounds or down days.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all CCM areas.

Health, Safety & Environment Compliance

• Understand and adhere to all organizational HS&E policies.
• Follow specific safety instructions pertinent to job tasks.
• Report any damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to the relevant staff.
• Maintain provided PPEs in good, workable condition.
• Refrain from horseplay and any misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report all accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible personnel.
• Participate in all scheduled safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Mould Operator position should possess 2 to 5 years of proven experience in a similar operational role, preferably within a continuous casting environment or heavy industrial setting. A strong understanding of casting processes and safety protocols is essential.
