Power BI Developer

About the Role

Datamatics Technologies is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our team in Dammam, Eastern region. This is a full-time position requiring 2-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise dashboards and reports, with a preference for experience in an on-premises Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) environment.

Role Overview

The Power BI Developer will independently manage end-to-end report development and support activities. This role requires strong proficiency in Power BI development, DAX, data modeling, report optimization, and adherence to enterprise reporting best practices to deliver scalable and business-driven analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using advanced visualizations, bookmarks, drill-throughs, tooltips, conditional formatting, and dynamic navigation.
• Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and business calculations to support reporting and analytical requirements.
• Utilize Power Query (M) for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and integration.
• Develop and manage data models including star schemas, fact and dimension tables, relationships, KPIs, and business logic.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and reporting purposes.
• Connect and integrate Power BI reports with enterprise databases, data warehouses, and other supported data sources.
• Create and maintain JSON theme files, reusable report templates, and visualization standards.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage report access, permissions, and secure data connectivity.
• Optimize report performance using DAX Studio, Performance Analyzer, and best practices for semantic modeling.
• Publish, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot reports within Power BI Report Server (PBIRS).
• Perform data reconciliation, functional testing, regression testing, and production support activities.
• Troubleshoot report issues and ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Support report migration, source connection updates, and modernization initiatives while preserving existing functionality.
• Maintain technical documentation including KPIs, calculations, data mappings, dependencies, and report configurations.

Required Experience and Skills

• 2-5 years of experience as a Power BI Developer.
• Strong expertise in building, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in Power BI development, DAX, data modeling, and report optimization.
• Experience with enterprise reporting best practices.
• Familiarity with on-premises Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) environments is preferred.
• Ability to manage end-to-end report development and support activities independently.
