Safety Officer

About the Role

Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint a Safety Officer for their Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department. This full-time role is based in Dammam and focuses on implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety policies and procedures across all mining and operational activities. The Safety Officer will contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Officer will be responsible for a range of duties focused on safety management, risk assessment, and compliance within the operational environment.

• Monitor and enforce adherence to established safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports on findings.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors.
• Perform risk assessments for operational activities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, industry standards, and company safety requirements.
• Support management in the implementation of HSE initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
• Provide regular safety reports to management and recommend preventive measures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a solid background in safety management, with specific experience in industrial or mining operations.

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in safety management, with a preference for experience in mining or industrial operations.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and practical skills in occupational health and safety.

• Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and procedures.
• Proficiency in safety reporting, incident analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
