Senior OSS Support Engineer (Kubernetes / K s)

About the Role

Comarch is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior OSS Support Engineer (Kubernetes / K8s) to join its technical operations team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role involves providing advanced (L2) technical support to major telecom and network operators, focusing on analyzing and resolving complex software issues and managing application deployments in cloud and Kubernetes environments. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves leading and coordinating tasks within a dedicated technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2 technical support to customers, investigating and resolving software errors reported by operator technical staff.
• Manage bugs and incidents, including resolving issues from test environments, performing retests of bugfixes, and monitoring ticket status to ensure SLA compliance.
• React to events and alerts from monitoring systems to prevent service disruptions.
• Oversee application and data management, including the installation of full software releases, single patches, and hotfixes across cloud and Kubernetes platforms.
• Coordinate tasks, shift schedules, and daily work distribution within the local technical support group.
• Collaborate with Production, Research & Development (R&D), and Delivery departments to escalate issues and improve product quality.
• Create, maintain, and update technical documentation for problem-solving processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive OSS Experience: Deep, hands-on experience with Operations Support Systems (OSS) software, with a mandatory focus on Fault Management, Performance Management, and Service Desk operations.
• Cloud & Kubernetes Mastery: Mandatory, hands-on production experience and deep operational knowledge of modern cloud environments and container orchestration using Kubernetes (K8s), including pod/cluster diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Support Domain Expertise: Proven professional background in a Support Domain (*, NOC, Application Teams, or Systems Integrator).
• Telco Network Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of Telco Networks and telecom industry operations (gained on either the operator or vendor side).
• ITIL Certification: An active, valid ITIL certificate is strictly required.
• Leadership & Coordination: Experience managing a small team or actively coordinating work, tasks, and shifts within a technical group.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Strong root-cause analysis skills involving SQL, Linux, system logs, APIs, and scripting.
• Education: A University Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Language: Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Location: Based in Dammam or open to relocation.

• Hands-on experience with Business Support Systems (BSS) software.
