Supervisor Ladle and Refractory

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a dedicated Supervisor, Ladle and Refractory to join our team in Dammam. This full-time position is critical for overseeing refractory operations, ensuring high-quality workmanship, optimizing equipment lifespan, and maintaining stringent safety standards across various production areas. The role requires a professional who can effectively manage resources and operational processes.

Operational Oversight

The Supervisor, Ladle and Refractory is responsible for the comprehensive management of operations within the Ladle, Tundish, Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), and Induction Furnace (IF) areas. This includes direct supervision of daily activities and strategic planning for maintenance and repairs.

• Manage general shift operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
• Oversee and execute hot and cold repairs efficiently.
• Ensure the timely and effective execution of all shutdown activities.
• Conduct thorough inspections of Ladle bricks, porous plugs, and Drop Out Boxes (DOB) following casting operations.
• Track and manage the lifecycles of assets to optimize performance and longevity.

Resource and Quality Management

A key aspect of this role involves the efficient planning and allocation of resources, alongside rigorous quality control and safety enforcement. The supervisor will ensure that all materials and personnel meet operational requirements and safety standards.

• Plan and allocate shift manpower effectively to meet operational demands.
• Arrange and ensure the availability of necessary onsite tools and equipment.
• Initiate material requests and manage procurement processes through the SAP MM system.
• Conduct incoming quality inspections for all materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Oversee and manage material trials to evaluate performance and suitability.
• Enforce strict workplace safety regulations and maintain high standards of housekeeping across all areas.

Reporting and Documentation

Accurate record-keeping and comprehensive reporting are essential functions of this position, providing critical data for operational analysis and continuous improvement.

• Maintain accurate and detailed log sheets for all operational activities.
• Compile and submit weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Prepare comprehensive failure analysis reports to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in refractory supervision within a heavy industrial setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to operational excellence.

• Possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in refractory supervision or a similar operational capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to manage materials, manpower, and inspection processes effectively.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and quality control in industrial environments.
