About the Role

LanceSoft Middle East is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Control Cabinets & Protection Systems for a contract position in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for developing and documenting electrical control cabinet designs that meet stringent industry and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts, design standards, and proficiency in relevant CAD software. This is an immediate opportunity for an Engineer - Electrical to join our team on a 1-year contract basis. The position requires an onsite presence in Dhahran, KSA, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, defect-free designs within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for creating electrical control cabinet designs, including all necessary documentation, in accordance with industry and customer requirements.
• Utilize MicroStation CAD and Autodesk Inventor software to create, revise, and review project drawings such as System Interconnect, Power Wiring, Layout Drawings, Loop Drawings, and Blocks.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications for hardware and cabinets.
• Maintain knowledge of and adherence to industry codes and standards including IEEE, ANSI, NEC, IEC, and NFPA.
• Assist the Project Engineer in customer witness testing of hardware/cabinet design functionality.
• Follow established quality procedures and standard design processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop detailed bills of material for panels and specify parts.
• Develop ordering drawings and provide job completion estimates and status updates to the Project Engineer.
• Provide performance-based and economic evaluations, selection, application, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices for protection devices.
• Incorporate new design techniques to enhance the efficiency of cabinet engineering.
• Execute defect-free designs in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a global team environment.
• Understand the electrical engineering concepts necessary for designing electrical cabinets.
• Understand NEMA/IP classifications relevant to cabinet design.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong preference for individuals with experience in the design of Bently Nevada machinery protection cabinets and control products.
• Knowledge of cabinet design engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Bently Nevada machinery protection and management systems products and services.
• Prior experience with utility protection and control design standards.
• Knowledge of low-voltage (LV) control circuits, and fuse and circuit breaker coordination.
• Prior experience following quality assurance processes within a schedule-driven project environment.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 design control standards.
• 3+ years of field, projects, or maintenance experience working with instrumentation and control systems in the energy and/or oil & gas environment, or a relevant field, will be considered an added advantage.

Contract Details and Location
