The Role: Field Compliance Coordinator Drilling Safety & Environment

The Field Compliance Coordinator – Drilling Safety & Environment is responsible for supporting drilling operations through the effective implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, compliance requirements, and operational safety practices. This role provides field-level HSE leadership, conducts audits and inspections, supports incident investigations, evaluates safety performance, and promotes continuous improvement in safety culture across drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide field HSE support and guidance to drilling operations, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, occupational health, and loss prevention requirements.
• Conduct routine and ad-hoc HSE inspections, audits, and compliance assessments across drilling locations.
• Identify safety gaps, hazards, and areas of improvement; prepare detailed inspection reports and track corrective action plans through completion.
• Support the development and improvement of HSE processes, including risk assessments, hazard identification, emergency preparedness, contractor safety, environmental protection, and safe operating practices.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, reporting, and implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
• Perform pre-operational and pre-start-up safety inspections for new drilling equipment and facilities.
• Support operational teams in preparing for internal and external HSE audits and inspections.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to drilling supervisors, safety officers, and field personnel on HSE requirements and best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate safety performance through field observations, safety meetings, workplace assessments, and behavioural safety reviews.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, training support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field. The position requires strong field experience, comprehensive technical HSE knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
