About the Role
Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Dhahran. This full-time role involves providing direct support to ophthalmologists by performing a range of diagnostic imaging and measurements. The position requires 5-10 years of experience in ophthalmic technology or a related field.
Role Purpose and Contribution
The Ophthalmic Technician plays a crucial role in facilitating accurate diagnoses and the development of appropriate treatment management plans for patients. This involves executing basic to moderately complex ophthalmic diagnostic procedures and ensuring the precise operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic procedures including Retinal Fundus Photography and External Eye Photography.
- Operate basic and moderately complex Ophthalmic machines, conducting daily calibration and quality checks to prevent malfunctions.
- Utilize JHAH Ophthalmic Viewing Systems, such as ImageNet6 and Harmony, with proficiency.
- Plan daily schedules and assessment diagnostic methods to ensure timely Ophthalmic Diagnostic appointments for patients.
- Inform and educate patients regarding diagnostic procedures.
- Operate Visual Field Machines and perform moderately complex Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scans for the Anterior Segment, Cornea, Macula, and Optic Nerve.
- Measure Intraocular Lenses (IOLs) and provide ophthalmologists with regular IOL formulas.
- Ensure daily aftercare of all ophthalmic machines at the conclusion of clinic operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certification in Ophthalmic Technology or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in ophthalmic diagnostics and patient support.
Technical Proficiency
Candidates must demonstrate strong technical aptitude in operating various ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including Visual Field Machines and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) devices. Proficiency with ophthalmic viewing systems like ImageNet6 and Harmony is essential for this role.
Work Setting
This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, within the clinical environment of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare. The role involves direct patient interaction and collaboration with ophthalmologists and clinical staff.
