Shangri-La Jeddah is situated on the new Jeddah Waterfront along the shores of the Red Sea, establishing a new standard for luxury in the city. The hotel features stylish interiors, a dedicated Kids Club, and innovative dining concepts designed to offer a distinguished guest experience.
Role Summary
Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking a Business Development Manager. This full-time role is responsible for engaging with local and international companies that have potential for individual and group travel to the hotel. Under the guidance of the Director of Sales and Director of Business Development, the manager will implement sales activities and action plans derived from the hotel's marketing strategy to maximize business opportunities within their designated area.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximize upselling opportunities whenever possible.
- Develop and execute effective business development strategies to ensure continued and sustainable profitable growth for rooms and all revenue centers.
- Maintain a high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through direct sales, telephone, fax, and written communication.
- Implement sales policies and procedures of the hotel and Shangri-La Hotel and Resorts.
- Build positive working relationships with all departments of the hotel, ensuring understanding of sales programs and customer/guest needs and expectations.
- Maintain active communication and foster teamwork amongst the sales team and other marketing departments, including Events Management, Communications, and Reservations, to achieve the overall sales objectives of the hotel.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and compliance with established hotel guidelines and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Hotel Sales & Marketing.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic, with strong communication and writing skills.
- Ability and willingness to work long hours as required.
- Possession of a neat, articulate, and pleasant appearance.
Work Environment and Expectations
This full-time position is based in Jeddah. The role demands a commitment to professional standards, including the ability to manage a demanding schedule and present a polished image consistent with a luxury hotel environment.
