The Laundry Runner Role

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking a dedicated Laundry Runner to join its full-time operations team. This role is essential for maintaining the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and guest service by efficiently managing all aspects of linen, uniform, and guest laundry, including the linen room. The successful candidate will be familiar with laundry equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Report for duty in full, clean, smart, and well-groomed attire.
• Accurately sign in when reporting on duty and sign out when reporting off duty.
• Prepare daily production forms to track laundry operations.
• Conduct routine checks of the work area and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Clean and tidy up the work area before concluding the shift.
• Shut down steam pipes (where applicable), switches, and the main panel at the end of the last shift.
• Handover dirty uniforms to the Linen Room according to established procedures.
• Adhere to environmental best practices, including reducing waste, recycling when possible, and reusing whenever applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in laundry operations within a hotel of at least 200 rooms, or in a large commercial laundry facility.
• Willingness to work extended duty hours as required to meet operational needs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within the hotel's dynamic laundry and linen operations, contributing directly to the guest experience in a luxury hospitality setting.
