About the Director of Finance Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance to join its team in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires a strategic financial leader to drive property-wide financial performance and support brand initiatives.

Role Overview and Strategic Contribution

This role functions as the property's strategic financial business leader, championing and implementing strategies to meet or exceed brand and customer expectations. The Director of Finance provides essential financial expertise to ensure the successful execution of brand service strategies and initiatives, while maximizing return on investment. A key aspect of this position is creating and executing a business plan that aligns with the property and brand's strategic direction, focusing on financial activities and achieving desirable financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploration of new business opportunities.
  • Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor and analyze actual sales performance against projected sales.
  • Analyze budget wage variances for more efficient planning.
  • Identify underlying principles and reasons within financial data.
  • Develop and implement new business plans.
  • Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate controls to manage business risks and ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to support strategic decisions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategies.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department sales and producing accurate forecasts.
  • Lead and influence finance teams and other departments through effective communication and sound financial decision-making.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Communicate strategic goals and owner priorities clearly to subordinates.
  • Advise the General Manager and executive committee on operating and financial issues.
  • Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to drive desired behaviors.
  • Manage property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand standards and owner requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of Profits and Losses and timely submission of reports.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable taxes.
  • Develop and support the achievement of performance, budget, and team goals.
  • Improve profit growth in operating departments.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely reports and presentations.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and ensure P&L accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.
  • Ensure team members are cross-trained and participate in orientation and training programs.
  • Create development plans for team members and conduct performance reviews.
  • Participate in hiring activities as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position located in Makkah, with responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah.
