Faculty Member in Occupational Therapy

About the Role

Batterjee Medical College (كلية باترجي الطبية) in Jeddah, Makkah al Mukarramah, is seeking a Faculty Member in Occupational Therapy. This full-time role involves contributing to teaching, clinical education, research, and student development within the Occupational Therapy Program. The position requires strong academic knowledge and clinical expertise to prepare competent healthcare professionals in line with institutional standards and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures, practical sessions, laboratory activities, case-based learning (CBL), and tutorials in Occupational Therapy.
• Apply evidence-based, student-centered teaching methodologies and integrate relevant clinical knowledge into teaching.
• Utilize Blackboard (LMS) and other educational technologies effectively.
• Develop and update course materials, teaching resources, and learning activities.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate examinations, assignments, and practical assessments using systems like ExamSoft.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic performance.
• Provide academic advising, mentoring, and professional guidance to students.
• Monitor student academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Support students in developing clinical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional communication skills.
• Conduct scholarly and applied research in Occupational Therapy or related healthcare disciplines.
• Publish research findings in recognized peer-reviewed journals.
• Participate in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and research activities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, course review, and continuous academic improvement.
• Support quality assurance, institutional accreditation, and program accreditation requirements.
• Participate in community service, rehabilitation awareness initiatives, and professional outreach activities.
• Support collaboration with healthcare institutions and community organizations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant academic qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
• Clinical expertise in Occupational Therapy.
• Experience in teaching and clinical education is required.
• Commitment to student-centered education and professional development.
• Experience required: 1-3 years.

Academic and Professional Contributions

The successful candidate will contribute to the research culture and scholarly development of the program and College. This includes supporting student participation in research and scholarly activities, as well as ensuring teaching and assessment practices comply with BMC academic policies and approved quality standards. Participation in departmental meetings, academic committees, and institutional activities is also expected.
