Job Description

About the Role

WSP is seeking an HSE Advisor to join their team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to an ongoing Property & Building Supervision Project, focusing on managing health, safety, and environmental arrangements to protect personnel and ensure compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage health, safety, and environmental arrangements for the project in accordance with WSP HSEQ Management System requirements.
  • Oversee HSE Inspectors, ensuring they monitor the implementation of health and safety measures at the project site level, adhering to legal and client requirements.
  • Develop and deliver health, safety, and environmental training to WSP employees, including induction and safe working practices.
  • Review and approve contractor’s health, safety, and environmental plans, risk assessments, and method statements against legal and client requirements before work commences.
  • Plan and conduct daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place prior to work beginning.
  • Conduct weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel, ensuring all corrective and preventive actions are closed out.
  • Organise HSE meetings with clients, WSP project staff, and contractors.
  • Initiate and test emergency response plans, ensuring drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
  • Ensure HSE Inspectors follow up on contractor’s incident investigation reports, confirm completion, identify and close out corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and provide necessary technical guidance for accident protection.
  • Conduct regular site safety reviews.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience level of 0-1 years.
  • Proven experience in a similar HSE leadership role, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly within the Middle East region.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Work Environment

This full-time role is based in Jeddah, KSA, and involves working on a Property & Building Supervision Project, requiring regular site presence and interaction with various project stakeholders.
