About the Locum Tenens Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Jeddah is seeking a dedicated medical professional for a Locum Tenens position. This role is integral to providing high-quality medical care, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of various medical diseases and conditions within a specific specialty or subspecialty. The successful candidate will operate in strict adherence to current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of the assigned specialty, in accordance with approved clinical privileges.
  • Offer timely consultation services for inpatients and emergency room cases upon request, responding within prescribed timeframes as outlined in KFSH&RC policy.
  • Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and eligibility of all medical records.
  • Provide on-call service, maintaining availability and response times as stipulated by hospital policy.
  • Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge.
  • Ensure that discharge orders are documented 24 hours prior to patient discharge.
  • Perform any other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty as assigned.

Academic Contributions

  • Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
  • Participate actively in the department’s educational activities and training programs.
  • Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge, fulfilling all continuing education requirements.

Research Engagement

  • Participate in clinical, basic, and translational research projects in accordance with the Research Advisory Council Policy.
  • Contribute to advancing medical knowledge, improving the quality of postgraduate education, and enhancing KFSH&RC's national and international recognition.

Administrative Duties

  • Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman.
  • Participate in all mandatory departmental activities and serve on departmental and hospital committees and other administrative functions as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates must possess seven (7) years of training in a specialty or subspecialty.
  • Postgraduate training experience must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years in the relevant subspecialty.
