About the Role

Dar Al Riyadh is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time position involves providing essential engineering support and technical oversight for PMC (Project Management Consultancy) projects.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in reviewing designs, coordinating with various stakeholders, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and requirements across diverse projects. This position contributes to the successful execution and delivery of large-scale initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support and technical oversight for PMC projects.
• Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project requirements are met.
• Monitor mechanical works and ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and project standards.
• Review and comment on HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems as applicable to the project.
• Monitor project progress and support the PMT/PMC team in resolving technical issues and design coordination matters.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, workshops, and site inspections.
• Review RFIs, material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Identify technical risks, design issues, and potential deviations and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Support testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover activities.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with applicable local and international standards and HSE requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and recommendations for the PMC management team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within PMC, EPC, engineering consultancy, or major construction projects.
• Proven experience in large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or capital projects.

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical building services.
• Experience reviewing engineering designs, calculations, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
• Good knowledge of applicable international standards, local codes, and authority requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP is preferred.
• Familiarity with project management and document management systems.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Excellent communication, coordination, technical review, and problem-solving skills.
