About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Mgr Systems to join its property management staff in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and contributes advanced knowledge in technology and general hospitality business to support the property’s Information Resources objectives. The Manager Systems is responsible for all technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and maintenance at the property level, interfacing with vendors, owners, Executive Committee, and property staff.

Core Technology Responsibilities

• Utilize computer systems, hardware, and software for programming, software development, function setup, data entry, and information processing.
• Monitor, ensure, and manage the acquisition and maintenance of property-based systems.
• Analyze information, identify current and potential problems, and propose effective solutions.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair equipment, ensuring the upkeep of the equipment and environment.
• Oversee computer and network operations, ensuring scheduled backup/recovery functions and consistent administration of hardware, operating, and application systems.
• Manage Information Resources (IR) activities to ensure the property infrastructure and application systems are functional at all times.
• Administer and maintain mail and email systems, and manage IT hardware/software inventories.
• Provide Internet support and maintenance, along with cable management support, where applicable.
• Generate systems communications for property users, introducing new applications, providing user tips, alerting users of system problems, and informing staff of progress or status.
• Consult on specific application issues or hardware/software problems and provide feedback to Lodging IR on application and system performance.
• Stay technically current and apply new knowledge to the job, demonstrating expertise in relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.

Systems Management and Oversight

• Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work related to information systems.
• Perform needs assessments, ensuring compliance with brand-specific standards, budget, and capital requirements.
• Determine priorities, schedules, plans, and necessary resources to ensure completion of property projects on schedule and according to specification.
• Ensure problems are correctly reported, routed, tracked, and resolved, with system users informed of the situation at all times.
• Ensure proper asset management and perform on-site monitoring of all projects.
• Maintain regular, ongoing communication across all areas of responsibility to foster awareness of business objectives and manage expectations.

Policy and Compliance

• Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Monitor processes and evaluate information according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Local Standard Operating Procedures (LSOP) requirements.
• Enforce IR policies and standards to protect company hardware, software, and other resources at the property.
• Direct the maintenance of equipment and installed software applications inventory for the property, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience in IR Global Field Services or Marriott Systems Support is desirable.
• System-related professional certifications are desired.

Collaboration and Support

• Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Inform and update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve problems.
• Coordinate property efforts, prioritize needs, and communicate those needs to IR Shared Services and other systems staff.
• Manage vendors for property IT requirements, functioning as an escalation point for problem resolution.
